Our business is named Badagry to honor our Nigerian roots and to reflect our pride in our heritage. Badagry is a unique and significant region in Nigeria, known for its blend of historical attractions and natural tropical beauty. It is a prominent cultural and tourist hub, recognized by many Nigerians.
We want to emphasize that our delectable tropical jams are made in Nigeria, from Nigerian fruits, and by Nigerians. This is a source of great pride for us, and we are committed to showcasing the richness of our local produce and craftsmanship.
For best quality, we recommend using TD Jam within one year. During this period, they should retain their optimal flavor and quality.
It should still be safe to eat after one year as long as the seal is intact and there are no visible signs of spoilage, such as yeast or mold. However, over time, the jam’s color, flavor, texture, and nutrient content may change.
While these changes are not a safety concern, they may affect the visual appeal of the product for some people.
Due to the perishable nature of our products, all orders are non-refundable unless they are damaged during shipping.
If your products arrive damaged or contaminated, please contact us immediately at orders@badagryjam.com OR WhatsApp +234 903 060 0878 and provide a few photos of the issue. We will be happy to send you a free replacement.
Yes, our jams are genuinely low in sugar. Most commercial jam products use a standard ratio of 45% fruit to 55% sugar by weight
At Badagry, we use an average ratio of 68% fruit to 32% sugar by weight. This significantly reduces the sugar content compared to typical jams.
We still include sugar because it acts as a natural preservative, enhancing the shelf life and providing desirable physical characteristics to our jams.
Unopened Jars:
-Store in a cool, dry, and dark place, away from direct light.
Opened Jars:
– Once opened, Badagry jams should be refrigerated and used within 1 month.
– Shelf life can vary depending on the specific product and usage habits. For example, frequent opening, leaving the jar at room temperature for extended periods, or double-dipping can reduce shelf life.
Tip to Extend Shelf Life:
– Spoon out the quantity of jam you need into a separate bowl, then immediately return the jar to the refrigerator. This minimizes exposure to microbial contamination and helps maintain the quality of the jam.

No, you should not eat jam with mold growing on it. Do not attempt to scrape off the mold, as this will not remove all of it. Mold can have invisible roots that penetrate deeper into the jam.
If you see mold, discard the entire jar immediately.
Safe Storage Practices:
– Keep opened jars of jam in the refrigerator until fully consumed.
– Regularly check for signs of spoilage, such as mold, yeast growth, or off-odors (e.g., fermented, alcohol, or yeasty smells).
– Discard the jam immediately if you detect any signs of spoilage.
